GVRA Career Connections and Resource Fair — Wednesday, September 9

10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Atlanta Metropolitan State College, southwest Atlanta

Six hours, which is the longest window on this list, run by the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. Employers across a range of industries and experience levels, plus resource providers in the same room. Worth being clear about who this is for: GVRA's focus is employment for people with disabilities, but the agency has opened this event to all community members looking for work, career exploration or resources. Northside Cherokee Patient Access Job Fair — Monday, September 14

Patient access is the front end of a hospital: registration, scheduling, insurance verification, check-in. These are non-clinical roles, no license required, and they are one of the most reliable ways into a health system for someone with customer service or administrative experience. Northside Gwinnett and Duluth Surgical Services Hiring Event — Tuesday, September 15

The highest-value event on this list if you are the right person for it. Northside is running on-the-spot interviews and making offers the same evening for operating room roles at its Gwinnett and Duluth hospitals: experienced OR Circulator RNs, OR Charge Preceptor RN, OR Clinical Supervisor, OR Department Coordinator, and experienced Surgical Technologists.

DAV RecruitMilitary Atlanta Veterans Job Fair — Thursday, September 17

The strongest employer list of any event this fall, and it is free for veterans, military spouses, transitioning service members, and Guard and Reserve members. Organizations already registered as exhibitors include MARTA, Truist, XPO, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Cobb County Department of Public Safety, Gwinnett County Public Schools, Veolia North America, Lendmark Financial, Novolex, Maxim Crane Works, Mapei, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and South University. RecruitMilitary says its events average over 50 exhibitors and the list is not final until the day of.

Confirm the venue before you drive. Listings for this event disagree about where it is being held, with some pointing to the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park and the organizer's own page showing a different part of the metro. Register through RecruitMilitary and use the address in your confirmation, not one you read somewhere else.

Gwinnett County Police Hiring Event — Friday and Saturday, September 18–19

Not a table-and-handshake event. Gwinnett County Police is the second largest agency in Georgia, and this weekend is built so you can complete the entire first phase of a two-phase hiring process in one visit: physical ability test, orientation, the full application, and an oral interview. Recruits are paid a salary while they go through academy training, which matters if you cannot afford an unpaid gap. Bring water and something to eat.

Atlanta Job Fair — Wednesday, October 7

Narrow and useful. Clayton County Public Schools is recruiting School Bus Drivers, School Bus Monitors and Diesel Mechanics, and the district provides the training. An evening slot, which is deliberate: it is aimed at people already working days. School transportation work suits anyone who wants a route, a schedule that follows the school calendar, and benefits attached to a public employer. A CDL is not required going in if you are willing to train for one.

Atlanta Career Fair — Thursday, October 22
